What’s the difference between a drifter and an explorer? Other than the
clothing and the cool leather hat, I guess it comes down to a destination. A drifter has none.
An explorer fearlessly strives to reach his. No one desires to merely drift through life, and
even the notion of “following Jesus” leads one into the life of an explorer. So what is our
destination as we follow Jesus? The answer may surprise you and it may intimidate you: we are
seeking holiness. Check out the journey laid out for us as we consider the lives of some of
God’s mega-explorers as they pursued holiness and learn some steps for ourselves along the way.

What are You Talking About?
Have you ever wondered how sermons are planned? I mean,
we are not a church that spends 18 weeks on Romans 10, and that means we roll through

“I don't know when. I don't know where.
At some point in my life, I lost the Christmas spirit, or at least
what I thought was the Christmas spirit.
Oh, I can still remember some fabulous Christmas mornings. Sneaking
out of my bedroom at 4 a.m. to see what Santa had left under the tree.
The most memorable year included Lincoln Logs, a Davy Crockett outfit,
and the preschool version of the Red Ryder BB Gun… I remember big

mornings, and brown Christmas mornings. I remember warmish Christmases
and bitter cold Christmases.
Where did those Christmas go? They went the way of all
childhood memories, I guess. Family members died - or moved
away and we saw them less and less…
