Spring 2008
Fishermen can get excited about many things. We can even “see” a fish when we never see
the fish! It can be seen by the effects it has on the water’s surface after coming up to feed. Its presence is
evidenced by its ripple effect. Easter also has a ripple effect as our lives are transformed by the rule of King
Jesus. The mundane, the difficult, the desperate, and all times of life feel the effects of a risen Lord. But we
also pass the ripple on for others to see Jesus and His risen life through us. We will ride the ripple waves to the
shore of Pentecost together.

FCCB LIFE
|
A Heart for Christ, His Church and the World … Kind of a catchy
tagline, but see how our journeys up towards Christ, in towards one another,
and out toward the world will have a major impact on the future of FCCB.
Watch the video from our vision dinner
in February 2007 and see how the map has come together. Our vision is to be a
worshiping community of growing disciples living out Christ’s love for the world.
There’s a place in that adventure for you!

April 19 & May 10 2008
Do you want to make a difference in the life of a young mother? Want to show her the hope and love of Jesus Christ?
Want to let her know she is fearfully and wonderfully made? Want to let her know that God has a plan for her life
and her babies’?
See how you can use your gifts and talents to contribute to God’s work through Young Lives. There is a prayer
time this Saturday April 19 from 8-9 at Grace Community Church in Rochester. That would be a good time to meet
the organizers of YoungLives. Mentor Mom training will be Saturday May 10, time and location to be determined.
There will be more information coming as it is made available. Please see Stacy with any questions.

Despair or Doubt ... Or Either??
Two feet of snow has become 1 foot of snow. Thirty degrees has turned into fifty
degrees. The seasons are in transition as life begins to creep out of the death of winter. Springtime is surely
a time of the year that many of us long for – the yard will be cared for, the gardens tilled, and outdoor
adventures become possible will little gear required. But why do we long for this season so?

“I don't know when. I don't know where.
At some point in my life, I lost the Christmas spirit, or at least
what I thought was the Christmas spirit.
Oh, I can still remember some fabulous Christmas mornings. Sneaking
out of my bedroom at 4 a.m. to see what Santa had left under the tree.
The most memorable year included Lincoln Logs, a Davy Crockett outfit,
and the preschool version of the Red Ryder BB Gun… I remember big
family dinners on a card table set up in the living room. I remember
testing a new bicycle in the frosty morning. I remember white Christmas
mornings, and brown Christmas mornings. I remember warmish Christmases
and bitter cold Christmases.
Where did those Christmas go? They went the way of all
childhood memories, I guess. Family members died - or moved
away and we saw them less and less…
