What's It All About?
Why Does God Care?
If you've ever wondered what the Bible is
all about, or why you're here, or if there is actually hope for you,
we've condensed it down to a few Bible verses which explain God's
plan for you, and a prayer which gives you a chance to respond to
God.
"For God so loves the world, that he gave
his only begotten Son, that whosoever
believeth in him should not perish, but have
everlasting life."
"But God commendeth his love toward us, in
that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died
for us."
"For all have sinned, and come short of the
glory of God."
"As it is written, There is none righteous,
no, not one."
"For the wages of sin is death; but the gift
of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ
our Lord."
"But as many as received him, to them gave
he power to become sons of God, even to them
that believe on his name."
"For I delivered unto you first of all that
which I also received, how that Christ died
for our sins according to the scriptures;
And that he was buried, and that he rose
again the third day according to the
scriptures."
"Behold, I stand at the door and knock: if
any man hear my voice, and open the door, I
will come in to him."
"For whosoever shall call upon the name of
the Lord shall be saved."
Dear God, I admit I've blown it - big time.
I've tried to make sense of the world and of
life without You. I've done my own thing,
instead of getting with Your program.
I've read these verses from the Bible, and I
believe that you sent Jesus to die for my
mess ups, and you raised Him from the dead
so that I can now be your son or daughter. I
want Jesus to come into my heart, and help
me. I want Him to save me from the life I am
leading, and become my life's new
supervisor, because I believe He will show
me what's best for me. I admit I don't
necessarily understand all that's going on
right now, and I know I still have some
messes that need to be cleaned up. But
Jesus, I want you to help me know the best
way to clean up my act. Thank you for
providing a way for me to get back in a
relationship with you. Help me grow in our
relationship, so I can be your kid.
"That if thou confess with thy mouth the
Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart
that God hath raised him from the dead, thou
shalt be saved."
"Verily, verily, I say unto you. He that
heareth my word, and believeth on him that
sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall
not come into condemnation; but is passed
from death unto life."
"These things have I written unto you that
believe on the name of the Son of God; that
ye may know that ye have eternal life, and
that ye may believe on the name of the Son
of God."
"But these are written, that ye might
believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of
God; and that believing ye might have life
through his name."
If you prayed the prayer above sincerely,
and really believe what you prayed, you are
now a Christian. The first thing you need to
do is find a Bible-believing and
Bible-teaching church where you can find out
more about the Bible, and how to apply it to
your everyday life. You also need to get
your own Bible to read.
