What the Homeless Shelter needs
The Homeless Center for Strafford County;(HCSC) a seasonal homeless shelter, is seeking volunteers for their 2007-2008 season, which is scheduled to open on October 1. There is a need for more volunteers at both the day shelter program and for their homeless shelter. Without the dedication and time of volunteers, the shelter would not be able to provide housing to homeless families. HCSC is located on Isinglas Drive in Rochester on the property of Waste Management of New Hampshire, who generously donated the former residential ranch style house.

You can also help by donating items from the following list:

  • Canned or bottled juices

  • Paper towels

  • Coffee

  • Laundry and dish detergent,

  • Sugar

  • Dishwasher detergent

  • Spaghetti

  • Lysol

  • Soups

  • Window cleaner

  • Canned spaghetti (ie) Chef Boyardee products

  • Kitchen and bathroom cleaners

  • Mac/Cheese

  • Sponges, brooms, mops

  • Canned meats (ie) tuna, chicken, ham, spam

  • Complete meals in a box

  • Snacks and juice boxes for school.
