Can you believe it?

Dear friends,
Settling into life in Dover, NH, over the last month has been a delightful experience! Coming back here to this missionary guest house on our furloughs has been so wonderful, and we thank God for His blessings. The kids have all started school at GSS and are enjoying getting to know new friends and are becoming involved in great extra-curricular activities.
We are currently working on planning our presentations over the next year. We plan on speaking at FCCB on January 13th. We look forward to sharing with you what God has been doing in West Asia these last few years.
While on furlough, we often get the question, “What are your financial needs?” We’d like to take a minute to share with you those needs and how you or others you know might be able to help meet them.

For our return to the field in August 2008
Monthly support: We have been receiving about 85% of our estimated monthly financial needs. Our mission requires that we be back at 100% before we return to the field.
Vehicle purchase: When we return to West Asia, we will need to purchase a vehicle that accommodates our family of 7. Vehicles are quite expensive there and we will need to save up a significant amount of funds before such a purchase is feasible.
Return air tickets for our family of seven.

For our training next summer
We praise God for providing for our training needs this last summer. We are now saving up for training costs we’ll have for next summer.

Special activities while on furlough
We are thrilled to have opportunities at our door-step that we do not normally have available to us overseas. Each family member is hoping to take advantage of these opportunities to learn. Would you like to help sponsor a Stevens family member in their classes?
Carroll – intermediate guitar lessons
Susie – cooking class, fitness class
Lainey – guitar lessons from Dad (free!), ice skating
Betsie – dancing lessons
Joseph – soccer
Samuel – soccer
Julie – story-time at the library (free!)

You can make checks out to your church, “FCCB”, and it will be forwarded on to us.

In addition to these, another way you can help is by introducing us to a church or home group with whom we can share. We always enjoy sharing with others about what God is doing in West Asia. We do this as a ministry and never mention finances unless those we are serving ask specifically about this. Nevertheless, we often find that it is through these personal contacts that God helps to raise up partners with us in this ministry through prayers, financial help, and encouragement.

Together in Christ, Carroll and Susie
